I am now ready to line my vessel prior to construction, and I couldn't believe it! I am out of Evalon. I have gone through my fabric case and no luck:0(

So I have done some more work to my One World One Heart piece AND tidied my playroom. I can see the work surface, well not for long.

The snow dyeing is still 'cooking' outside, I am looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow.

Lost the plot????

My photo's I took yesterday, blogger couldn't upload, so here they are today.
This was the scene yesterday from my back garden, the snow didn't seem to bother the horses. I just love this view whatever the season or weather.

On my walk home from Billericay, I had to walk along the edge of a wood, and the trees were absolutely stunning. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Where the water had splashed up over the hedge, we saw these icicles, I wouldn't have seen them if I had been in my car.

The reason my daughter thinks I have lost the plot is she saw my tray of coloured snow. 'What are you doing' she asks. 'Snow dyeing' I replied, the look on her face was a picture. I have used turquoise, magenta and lemon yellow Procion dyes. I have now got to wait at least 4 hours to see the results. (I saw Amanda had done some on her blog, which remnded me that I wanted to give it a try)

When I am on school holidays, I also like to try out new recipes. Gina is the domestic goddess when it comes to recipes, but I thought I would let you know how I livened up some pork chops last night. The recipe came in a booklet that I got a little while back. Grill pork chops until cooked, just before serving, spoon apple sauce on top of chops and cover with sliced Stilton. Grill until cheese melts. It was delish!! and I shall be doing it again.

Panic over!

Rhodri took hubby up to Billericay to bring my car back.

AND my glasses had fallen behind my seat when Kezzy moved my handbag, so I have eyes again!
With my lunch get-together being cancelled I had planned on painting my vessel. This just didn't happen and I need to paint it in daylight, so tonight I am going to start working on the give away I need to make for the One World One Heart Give Away.

A snowy day in Ramsden

Lunch had to be cancelled due to the bad weather as no one wanted to risk driving, so Hubby will have a lot of goodies to eat, not that he will complain.
Kezzy's school closed at noon and she went round a friends house and was going to stay there until Alan got home from work and could pick her up. A change of plan meant that I had to drive into Billericay which is only a couple of miles from where we live, a 20 minute round trip by car. The road conditions there were a lot worse than in Ramsden, so much so that when I was coming down a very icy hill, the car in front was going slower and slower and my car was going faster and faster on the ice. In the end I had to drive it into the curb to avoid the car in front, where it came to rest. Kezzy and I were a bit shaken. A mother of one of Kezzy's friends saw us and her boyfriend moved the car and put it up a side road for me. So we had a long walk home! Two hours from when I set off to pick Kezzy up, I got home!

I'm a bit stuck now,as

a)- I don't have a car and Kezzy has a dentist appointment tomorrow

b) I think my glasses must be in the car OR lost in the snowy walk home.

Todays bargains.

Here is the picture of the 'totem' this morning, the aging process certainly worked. I have been working on the third piece of my vessel, just sampling how I shall get the texture on the flowers. Sample1-French knots in black and white.

Sample 2- black eyelets.

Sample3-beads in different sizes, matt and shiny as well.

As I have 16 ladies coming for lunch, weather permitting, I had to pop to Tesco to get a nice cheeses via my local craft shop as I needed a new black pen. Oh dear! their sale was on, and as I cant resist a bargain I just had to get the items below. Nothing over 50p!

Experimenting.

As I was clearing a space in my playroom, I found this knitting ribbon that I also bought at Rainbow Silks on Saturday, I didn't need it, just loved the colours! I have been stitching another 'textile totem' as I wanted to try out the metal paint I bought the other week from Craft Arena. The 'totem' was given a coat of metal paint and left to dry and then....
it had a second coat of the metal paint, while it was wet, you go over the surface with green patina aging solution. It is now drying and hopefully something will happen as it dries-I'll let you know!

One World One Heart

Photo

I wanted to join this give away last year, but was new to blogging and not sure how it all worked. I am going to join in this year, and if you want to take part as well, click on the badge in the side bar.

Down to Mum's via Rainbow Silks.

The traffic was very good on the M25 on Saturday (for a change!) so I was able to pop into Rainbow Silks. They had a lovely waistcoat in display and the pattern is in the book below, i just need to get some wool, I shall knit this in my tea breaks at school, so it will be quite sometime before I will be wearing it.(Lots of other lovely patterns in this book) I also found these new magazines from Somerset Studio. I got the last two copies, I have only just dipped into them, and looking forward to reading them properly.
I didn't read them properly as I was busy doing more stitching on my vessel. Now to start work on the next piece.

We are taking my mother home tomorrow, back to Buckingham, providing the traffic isn't too bad on the M25, I might get to go via Rainbow Silks- not that I need anything, but when does that ever stop us 'just looking'
