And now for something completely different.

As it was time to take the bull by the horns and get started on my next project, out came the Dye-na-Flow paints.  My son Rhodri, has asked me to make this poster he has into a textile wall hanging. AGGGHHHHH!!!!!
So I have sloshed some paint onto some fabric and now waiting to see how it dries.

I have now finished the boat for Josh my oldest Grandson, just needs a name on the hull (he hasn't made his mind up yet as to what he wants it to be).
I have been busy visiting lots of blogs on the OWOH, such a good chance to meet other bloggers.
Tomorrow night I have got to go to Kezzy's school for parents evening, so I wont have time to do much creating :0(

Taking Liberties.

I heard from Pauline our Mentor for FET, that the hanging of our exhibition at Art Van Go went well yesterday.  Today it was open to the public.  I wont be able to show you any photo's  until Saturday, when we have our Open Day. If you are in or near  Knebworth, I would love to see you.
I have nearly finished stitching the little boat for Josh, my other Grandson.  My next project will be a wall hanging for my son, Rhodri.

Sunday, 6 February 2011

Now that my thumb is as last better, I have manged to finish making the little boat for my youngest Grandson, Zach.  I posted a photo of the hull last weekend, just after I had painted it.  In the cold light of day, I decided it looked to pristine and bright, so applied another coat of gesso to it.  I shall start working on the boat  for Josh next week.
I also got out my paints and pencils to do the first few day of February in my journal.

Another house guest!

Skye has been to stay with us this weekend on a trial, with view to looking after her for three weeks for her owner.  Although she has a lovely nature and is very docile, I cant cope with my house smelling of dog!  Luckily we have managed to fins someone else to look after her for the necessary three weeks.  Now where's the air freshener????

Happy New Year

I have seen a lot  of red around today as it is the Chinese New Year! I also got try some Lucky Candy too.
Before going into work this morning, I had to pop to Craft Arena to deliver some posters for the AVG exhibition and TIF.  It was lovely to see the snowdrops out, although, I did get some very strange looks as I grovelled amongst the plants trying to get a decent picture.  This one was the best, although it is not a particularly good one,  it was a bit too windy!

1 down, 11 to go!

I have managed to stay discaplined enough to complete the first month of my calendar challenge.  Then it was out with the paints to get the pages made for February.
I stuck two pages together with PVA, to make them stronger, then covered them with gesso( I am using an A3 sketchbook) When dry, the pages were sprayed with Craftynotions Creative  Colour spray-Olive.
I had a rummage in my cupboard and found some spare chipboard letters which I coloured with Brusho, red as it is Valentines Day this month.  Also used red Brusho to colour some paper to make my little journal boxes.  I don't normally use red, but luckily it has not come out to strong a colour for me to work with.
Stamped 'love' on a page from an unloved book and cut out.  Ready now to start on this months journalling.
Thumb still throbbing but I hope to start stitching again tomorrow- it's so frustrating!!!

Visiting.

I am still suffering with the wound on my thumb,  stopping me from being able to stitch ;0(  I think because I keep trying to stitch, I keep opening the wound.  Instead I have been doing  bit of blog hopping around the OWOH event.  What a lot of talented people there is out there!  Such a great way to find blogs that you wouldn't normally happen across too!!
I heard tonight, that our FET exhibition at Art Van Go is going to be extended by a week until the 12th March :0)
