Tonight

This Textile Totem ( it is actually silver in colour) is now finished and the third one will be completed tomorrow night.
I have been making samples to go in my 'paint recipe' book ready for my workshop at Textiles in Focus, its not that far away now.
On reading the new issue of QA, I was inspired by one of the articles and the consequence is that I am trying to organise a small Round Robin, I have sent out the invite and Nickie is up for it, just waiting to hear from the other three.
Rhodri is out on a stag do and not sure what time of the morning he will be coming home!

Oh no! the weekends over!

It was an early start for Nickie and I today to get to Cottenham for our Regional meeting. Though it was foggy the road was clear and we got there on time. Lots of discussion but one good thing to come out of today, is the idea of having a Regional EG web site. Just need to find some people who have good IT skills to set it up. Also had a quick chat with Gina over a cup of coffee- its good to catch up! After doing the usual Sunday chores on my return, I finished my cover for my book. I have used molding paste coloured with Creative Colour Spray and Cosmic Shimmer Mists. Letters coloured with Lumiere paint. Treasure Gold in several colours applied for a finishing touch. Just need to make the samples to go in it.
I am nearly ready to mount 2 more of my Textured Totems- hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday. The other week I got a new cake recipe from Carol- Carrot and Coconut cake. The family couldn't wait for it to cool-it's not going to last very long!!!!!

Tonight....

Nothing to show tonight. I have been doing a bit of this 'n' that. Decorating a cover for a small book, making a textured background on a canvas, a bit of knitting and getting my paperwork sorted for our EG Area meeting in Cambridge tomorrow.

Chelmsford Young Embroiderers'

Lurve was in the air today as our YE's were busy stitching love birds and hearts for Valentines Day. Libby had made some samples to inspire them and using recycled damask tablecloths bought back from Denmark by one of our Guild members with stitch and buttons to embellish, the girls produced some wonderful work.

We had three new girls start today, which means that for the moment we are now full.

Hersheys chocolate :0)

While Kezzy was at her Art lesson yesterday, it gave me the chance to pop in to Craft Arena to get the latest copy of QA, and here about Denise's trip to the U.S.A. Because of all the textured work I am doing I am buying Treasure Gold in various colours, to add highlights to my work. There was some Hershey's chocolates on the counter that Denise had bought back with her- just couldn't resist eating one! Last night, I was able to finish painting the box canvas, so tonight I could to mount the Textile Totem onto it. I think it looks o.k. I hope you agree.

Tomorrow it is an early start as I am helping at our Y.E., they are making a Valentine heart.
Then yet another early start on Sunday as Nickie and I are off to Cottenham for an area EG meeting.

A bit of this 'n' that

I completed my fabric cuff tonight by making a medallion/button to be the focal point, it has a Velcro fastening.

I also finished the front of the waistcoat I am knitting it at school and at all the different appointments I have to take Kezzy too. I have one more front left to do and then its the dreaded stitching up.

I bought three canvas's on Sunday at the Range, they are to be used to display my Textile Totems (hopefully). Tonight I have started work on one of them and I am now waiting for emulsion to dry before I can add any colour. I hope to have it completed tomorrow night and then, if it looks OK, I will do the other two.

Goodies

When I got to work today, I found this bag of goodies sitting on my desk There was:-
paint, sheers, cellophane ribbon, cotton fabric, card and some fancy plastic sheets. One of my colleagues was having a clear out and thought of me-lucky me!

This is one of the fabrics- I don't know what I shall do with it yet.
In my tea breaks I have been beading my fabric cuff and tonight I have done some more to my Textile Totem- I hope to have something to post very soon.

I had to take Kezzy to the hospital for the next step towards having her teeth sorted out. She is now on the waiting list to have 3 teeth out before they can start on the braces.

Material Girls

It was back to Romford again tonight-twice in two days! This time it was for the Launch Night of the Material Girls Exhibition, I went with Nickie, Jackie and Di (she was chauffeur). I had a lovely time, viewing the work, meeting new people, talking to friends and the artists.

I also bought this piece of work by Chris Spencer, also known as Chrissythreads. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The colouring reminds me of the lovely holidays I have had in Cornwall, I just love the shapes of ammonite fossils and it will look great on one of my walls. I can't wait to hang it!

This is the only photo I managed to take before my camera batteries died. Hubby had chargerd them for me over the weekend but they didn't seem to have held their charge:0(
Luckily Nickie had her camera and took some photo's for me:0)
I will take a photo of it when it arrives to show it's true colours as here, it looks very brown which it isn't!
Kezzy's Squadron raised over £1400 yesterday with their bag packing service yesterday- didn't they do well!
